Community Sector Development

Following on from the work that had been done over the last couple of years, BSWN set up a Community Sector Development team to support Black and Minoritised grassroots community groups and organisations to have better access to information and support, greater involvement in shaping local services, to create positive changes in their communities, to achieve their full potential and to become sustainable for the future.

Nathalie Sherring and Michelle Meredith are currently developing the offer of services for the team.

Nathalie is BSWN’s Regional Capacity Building Manager. Her remit is to provide support to Black and Minoritised community groups across the South West, share good practice across the region and coordinate the co-production of solutions for challenges faced by many organisations in light of the COVID-19 pandemic and the Cost-of-Living crisis.

Working alongside Nathalie, Michelle’s role as the Community Development Worker is to connect with existing and emerging Black and Minoritised community groups and support their access to relevant information.
