Infrastructure Officer

Background

Over 10 years experience in sports, health and wellbeing in both urban and rural environments. From 2015 - 2021 working in Tower Hamlets one of the most diverse and deprived boroughs in London and the country. The main remit of the role was to address and influence the inequalities which exist in health and wellbeing among the most deprived, hard to reach and marginalised in our communities.

Bristol & BSWN

Holly was looking for a new challenge in a new city, with the ultimate aim of supporting more people and businesses and working to reduce inequalities that exist throughout society.

‘I was first attracted to working for BSWN because I am passionate about making a positive difference to those facing inequalities, I was able to make this impact straight away. I was encouraged to drive my own ideas, be creative, and have a voice. There is a real emphasis on teamwork which is evident throughout BSWN from Director down, every colleague is open and happy to offer support and guidance, the team may be small but my word it makes a huge difference.

BSWN is an organisation that truly works with its communities providing information, a platform and an opportunity to thrive. This way of working is so refreshing and it is obvious why so many people and organisations are so thankful and grateful to BSWN for their work and support, which empowers people and businesses every day. What is also so great about BSWN is that they are always looking to improve and develop. For example they are turning an old building that has been left to perish over the last 20 or so years and are developing it into a community hub, when all companies are turning away from commercial space BSWN are putting their hands up and looking into the future, they are not firefighting they have plans to continue to evolve with the times and ultimately at the betterment of the communities they work with.

I am very sad to leave BSWN, I could not have asked for a more welcoming, impactful or progressive company to be proud to say I have worked for, thank you to the whole team - we will certainly see more of one another! Watch this space BSWN are will never stop in their bid to tackle the inequalities which exist in our society they WILL continue to challenge and change the status quo!’

Goodbye from BSWN

Holly has put in an incredible amount of hard work into our Make it Work programme and we wish her good luck in her new role & future plans. Moving forward supporting this programme is our new colleague Tutu!
