Since we began our Business Support Programme our business enterprise team has supported over 200+ Black and Minoritised businesses in Bristol and the South West! This month we are featuring Nigel Jordan, Director of River Jordan Couselling Service and Consultancy LTD.

Nigel started his business due to being passionate about helping others and our business enterprise team has been supporting him to achieve this since he started his business last year. River Jordan Counselling Service and Consultancy currently provide culturally sensitive therapy for adult men from racially minoritised backgrounds. These services are essential for people from Black and Minoritised backgrounds as they are more likely to experience poor mental health due to issues around; racism and discrimination, trauma, social and economic inequalities, housing, language barriers, and much more.
“With reference to my counselling practice, most of my experience has been working with men as I have extensive experience working with young men via gun gangs and knives with the government initiative community against guns and gangs - in addition, I have done a lot of work with asylum seekers and refugees.”
Nigel is currently reaching out to VCSE and organisations that work with men from marginalised communities to get a GP referral so that he can support them with their well-being needs. He offers six 50-minute sessions of integrative counselling spaced out on a weekly basis.
By sending a referral to info@riverjordan-counselling.co.uk, GPs, Medical Surgeries, Mental Health, Housing, Solicitors, and Community organisations can refer patients to him.
